Call Me What I Become follows the journey of a soul experiencing life through the eyes of a baby gorilla. It is a five-minute piece with four movements:
1. Transcendental: the soul leaves the spiritual realm to be born as a baby gorilla
2. Heartbeat: Life begins, and her heartbeat is heard alongside her mother’s
3. Belonging: She is welcomed to her tribe and learns about her connection to nature/community through a lively dance.
4. Rediscovering Identity: The naming ceremony has begun, and a name has been chosen.
